There was NO screaming last night!!! A few too many wake ups (but less than there have been) with feeds ... but immediately going back into his own bed, in his own room...

Thank goodness. I can deal much better with waking up when there is no screaming involved.

Yesterday I was tidying and Eden was...reading... and the entire time making REALLY loud noises...he seems to have discovered that he can, and so he does...at every available opportunity.

the shrieking wildcat that is my son

well the past week or so has not been so fun in our household. eden has learned a new shrieking scream which seems to bring itself out to play whenever possible - particularly in the middle of the night. all night. but then, it also likes to play throughout the day as well.

i simply don't know what to do. he used to go down SO easily and go back down after feeds... but now sleep is a complete nightmare - day and night. he's constantly tired, so constantly screaming.

have i said about how if you sit him up, he falls forwards because he's concentrating too hard on his feet? it's highly entertaining.. he also finds it very funny when you tickle his tummy (until recently we'd get blank stares) and hold him above your head... he's super fun when he is awake...it just seems to be few and far between the screaming fits!

here and there

we FINALLY bought a cot mattress. he slept in a cot all weekend at Centre Parcs and when we got home last night and put him back in his moses basket, he wasn't having any of it! so tonight when phil got home i marched us off to the shop to get a mattress for the cot (although this proved more difficult than anticipated).

eden is definitely suffering the effects of us running out of colief. i have, however, been researching and now know that excema is often a symptom of lactose intolerance - which is precisely what the colief is defending us from - so in the morning we have an appointment with the doctor and i am requesting a lactose intolerance test, and a prescription for lactose free formula. it's not fair to him to keep subjecting him to such pain and discomfort.

i'm hoping that the relocation into his own room will result in a better nights sleep for everyone.

tomorrow we're going swimming again. he is starting to actually interact in the bath - body popping and kicking - but has yet to transfer that to swimming...in the pool he just stares at us. hopefully it will follow the same pattern as the bath and soon he'll start interacting and enjoying it.

anyway it's been a really long day...bye for now.

days passing

i know it's blurry but it shows a smile...

Eden did indeed like his bouncer...no bouncing as of yet, but you should have seen his face when he was turning himself and looking about..i videod it but phil was taking pictures as well...and so i kept getting his hand in the way...so we'll go with the photos!

The donut still wins though...when he's awake it keeps him happy! In fact, he's sitting in it right now, kicking and smiling away.

This morning I thought I'd cracked the daytime tired crying... he started rubbing his eyes, so I mentioned to phil that he was tired... phil's response was 'so put him in his bed'... i did, thinking that we'd get a whole lot of screaming...instead there was nothing... he laid there looking about and then fell asleep! He stayed asleep for about 45 minutes. Then he started to cry so phil went to get him...but unfortunately that was when the silence ended... we then had hours of on and off crying and sleeping...oh well.

oh, any canadians may be pleased to know that eden's favourite song seems to be skinnamarinkie-dinkie-dink....if you know what i'm on about!

so many things to say, and photos to show!

eden always sleeps holding his ears...and holds them when he gets tired.

Sorry for the lack of blogs...

Well we've had an up and down sort of week. Eden seems to have really bad excema. The stuff the doctor gave us for the worst bits has completely worked, but I'm moisturising him to within an inch of his life at every possible opportunity! Poor kid. It seems to be working, but it's recently moved to his back...we wonder if that's possibly why he's been waking up lots, from discomfort.

As i type, phil is putting together the doorway bouncer and we'll then put eden into it. I'm VERY excited. I don't know what he'll think of it just yet. i'll post photos etc next time.

Earlier we put eden in a new donut chair thing we've been given. He loved it, but was a bit small for it...so he kept slipping through...but being really happy....he wasn't so thrilled when we took him out. He even grabbed for the toys attached and he usually ignores toys!

We've had a few weeks  of  bad nights, last night being the worst. I'm not sure if it's his skin, if he's teething, if it's wind or if it's a growth spurt...whichever,  it's not fun. Particularly as regardless of how much he sleeps or doesn't, he wakes at 8am wide awake and wanting to play!

Oh, the door bouncer experience is done and he's tired. I better go.
